Spring 2023 – Red Oak
This project applies some learnings from the Wood Bending course at Pratt, taught by Tim DeMuth. And is a mile marker for my increasing comfort with mixed wood & electronics projects.
Above, the light installed in our living room. Below, photos from other angles and the build. Main structure is composed of 3 symmetric lobes, as illustrated in the photo of the paper prototype.
Selecting a diffusion layer for the light took a lot of experimentation. I ended up using a thick paper from a local art store.
